Composition and mechanism of action

The medical product hemostatic sterile agent “Нemofreeze” is a derivative of zeolite (calcium and sodium aluminosilicates), which has a high adsorptive capacity. The hemostatic effect is based on fast moisture absorption. Zeolite-based hemostatics are factor concentrators. The mechanism of their action is precisely that zeolite quickly absorbs water molecules and holds them. As a result, at the point of contact with the blood zeolite, there is a concentration of platelets and coagulability factors. Moreover, zeolite slightly accelerates the blood clotting process by interacting with its ion-level components. Due to the fact that zeolite is biologically inert and sterile, the likelihood of allergic reactions or transmission of viral infection when used is minimal. When used, the product easily fills the wound cavity, does not attach to tissues, does not suck, and after application is easily removed mechanically.

Hemofreeze can be used to provide first aid and emergency care for bleeding wounds and vascular damage. Can be used in clinical, polyclinic, field and home environments. Suitable for use by both health care professionals and people without medical education.

Method of application

1. Before the application of the agent «Hemofreeze» the wound is cleaned from foreign bodies, blood clots (fig. 1).
2. «Hemofreeze» is poured into the wound cavity (fig. 2). The packaging of «Hemofreeze» must be opened immediately before the application of the product, it is not reused. If the leak tightness of the package is not suitable for use due to rapid moisture saturation.
3. After filling the cavity of the wound «Hemofreeze», it is necessary to apply a cotton swab tampon over it and carry out manual compression within 3-5 minutes (fig. 3).
4. If the arteries are damaged before use, it is advisable to temporarily stop the bleeding by pressing the damaged artery with the finger or applying a blood-stopping tourniquet in order to prevent the drug from being washed out of the wound by blood streams.
5. If the hemostasis is not effective, refill the «Hemofreeze» from another package and then apply mechanical compression and a blood-stopping tourniquet (depending on the location of the injury) (fig. 4).
6. To stop bleeding, the tampon should be fixed with a bandage wrap by applying a compression bandage.
7. If a limb is damaged, it should be immobilized to reduce the risk of re-bleeding.
